VINTAGE PAPER / MAGAZINES - I¹ve found that the best and most interesting type of paper to work with is domestic vintage found papers. Be thinking in terms of old newspapers, magazines, books and book pages, old match book covers, old photographs, old envelopes with stamps and return postage. Also think in terms of twine, rope, string, buttons, cloth. Let your mind be open and try not to over think your materials.
OLD BOOKS - If you're flying into town and want to pick up some old books, one inexpensive source is McKay Books. They have bins of free material out in front of the store.
ARTIST CANVAS BOARD OR PANEL - Small size of around 8 x 10 inches on up would be good ( whatever you feel most comfortable with ). Beginners often find the board easier to work with, but a panel is fine too. You can find artist supplies near the workshop location at Michaels at One Hundred Oaks Mall.
TAPE - Either masking or scotch will work.
SCISSORS
METAL STRAIGHT EDGE RULERS - Metal is best when working with Xacto knives. Plastic and wood rulers tend to get caught while cutting and slicing.
( NOTE: If you are flying in from out of town, tape, scissors and rulers are not required -- we can share! )
