Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once asked the timely question, “What good is art in times of trial and revolution?”
Art has always been a key to unlocking conversations, thoughts and ideas that lead to revelation and change.
Art is also a form of reordering the chaos of emotions in the midst of culture and personal shifts. This image of George Floyd is both.
Please use this art for what it was intended. May it be a catalyst for reflection, revelation, and change, even as it has been those things for me through its creation.
BLACK LIVES MATTER
- Wayne Brezinka
My multi-dimensional portraits make explicit reference to their subjects through the use of cut-and-pasted printed paper and repurposed materials arranged together into a vivid likeness of the subject. The aim of expression is always the same: to eloquently encapsulate the life of my subject through a multitude of textures and colors, crafting and revealing extraordinary storylines.
